Typical Day

All therapeutical days include group counseling, individual counseling, recreational therapy and much more!

9:00 AM - Process Group

Clinical staff encourage clients to check-in regarding events over the weekend, provide updates on meeting attendance, involvement with program of recovery, engagement in self-care and recreation/hobbies, medication compliance, and any challenges that arose. Clients are encouraged to provide each other with feedback and support, clinicians utilize Solution-Focused and Strengths Based Therapy interventions to identify adaptive behaviors and work towards modifying high-risk and maladaptive cognitive and behavioral tendencies.

10:00 AM - Communication Skills

Clinical staff review differences between interpersonal communication styles (passive, assertive, aggressive) and encourage clients to discuss their experiences with each. Clients are encouraged to reflect on recent interpersonal interactions and identify both strengths and areas that need improvement in relation to communication. Barriers to adaptive communication are identified, and group facilitators utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused therapy to collaborate for a plan of action to practice new, more adaptive communication styles.

11:00 PM - Relapse Prevention

Group facilitator encourages clients to discuss commonalities and themes throughout their relapse history, and specific skills and strategies to prevent relapse in the future are discussed. “Building Defense against the First One” is discussed from a 12-step standpoint, and relapse prevention tools including positive self-talk, cognitive restructuring, and utilizing coping skills (prayer, exercise, mindfulness, etc.) are explored.

3:00 PM - Coping Skills/Feeling Management

Group members are educated on skills and strategies for effective emotion management and regulation. Cravings and negative emotions including anxiety, depression, fear, and anger are discussed, and group facilitator uses psychoeducation to equip clients with the skills to reduce negative emotions and increase capacity to regulate cravings and feelings in distressing situations in recovery.

4:00 PM - Gratitude and Positive Thinking

Group facilitator encourages clients to discuss the role of gratitude in recovery. Clients are encouraged to identify specific harmful self-talk and negative, pessimistic thinking patterns that contribute to relapse. Group facilitator utilizes CBT to assist clients in reframing high-risk, harmful thinking and self-talk to more adaptive, positive, recovery-oriented ideas.

6:00 PM - DBT Skills

Group facilitator reviews four primary Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills: emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Clients are encouraged to discuss ways to strengthen these skills and their role in recovery. Group facilitator utilizes DBT and psychoeducation to increase awareness of the role these skills play in early recovery, as well as adaptive relationships.

7:00 PM - Problem Solving

Clients are encouraged to identify specific problems they have experienced thus far in treatment and recovery, and group members provide feedback and support related to problem solving. Group facilitator collaborates with clients to devise action plans related to conflict resolution and problem solving, centered around changing what can be changed and working towards acceptance of what is out of our control.

Seacrest recovery center is one of the best things that happened to me. Before coming in Seacrest, I was lost and needed to learn how to live a sober life. Seacrest helped me get a better life and how to be a better person. Everyone at Seacrest, from the owner, the clinician team, and the Behavioral Health Technicians were extremely supportive and always there for me when I needed it. Even when I left Seacrest, there was one person in particular that was always there for me, Mike Stevens. Mike always kept in touch with me to see how I was doing. Once I had a year clean, Seacrest provided me the opportunity to work as a behavioral health technician. I held that position for a year before being promoted to a clinical intern. Seacrest continues to give me the opportunity to learn and grow. Seacrest will always remain in my heart and my family's life for what they did for me. I am extremely grateful for Seacrest Recovery Center.

First of all, I just want to say how much direct experience and time sober everyone here has. The staff have been immersed in the world of recovery for many years and this shows immensely in every group and activity that we did. The staff bend over backwards to accommodate the clients, and this creates an atmosphere of actually being heard. This is so important in early recovery. I came into seacrest a broken child and am leaving a confident and motivated young man. I did not want to come to seacrest at first, but Mike Stevens and my counselor Katelyn made me feel safe and welcomed from day one. I never had a single issue with anyone here. Each staff member helped me to achieve my goals, from creating a resume and bringing me to a job interview, to giving me lists of meetings for everyday of the week. I can’t imagine where I would be if I hadn’t gone to seacrest. This place has helped me find myself and start my life. I am eternally grateful for everything I learned here, and this place has helped me to feel whole and like a human being again. I will definitely be coming back to speak and to attend the alumni events. These show the clients that this truly works. Thank you again for everything. Peace.

Seacrest gave me my life back. From the first phone call I made to find help with my addiction, until the day I left, I was treated with kindness and respect. It became clear after a few days that every member of the staff cared very much about their clients. On site medical staff helped me work through medication issues, and the technicians at the sober living house were amazing human beings. Most all of their employees are in recovery and know exactly what we are going through because they have been there themselves. If your looking for the best treatment center to help get clean/sober you found it. After traveling half-away across the county to Seacrest NJ, I have no regrets. At this writing I have 72 glorious days sober and I still text my progress (by their request) to staff - beautiful people.

I spent several months participating in both the IOP and OP programs at Seacrest. Overall great experience. Like many organizations, they are only as good as the day to day staff makes them. The staff were warm and caring, very approachable and understood the evils of addiction. From Harold ( who rescued me from a subpar facility), to all the staff, it was a positive climate for learning and growth. The techs with whom I spent the bulk of my time, were selfless and caring , giving freely of themselves, lending an ear, and/ or pointing me in the right direction for any needs that would be better addressed through other resources. To name a few, Carrie, Sherri, Michal, Chanel, Kevin, Larry,Jake, George, and Patricia were like family yet maintained their professionalism. At the center, Laura was efficient and approachable and worked to find an aftercare program or residence that fit your needs. MIke Stevens was great and supportive.Mike, though newer than the others always listened to concerns or forwarded them to the appropriate person. The counselors also need to be recognized. Maria, Matt, Brett, Kelsey, Kaitlin, Luke and Travis were easy to relate to and good facilitators. Of course, my fellow housemates and peers provided the support and companionship that is key to recovery.Thank you Seacrest for helping me stay on the path and help provide me with the tools to move forward and be a happier, better me.

I recently just finished my program with them, and I can’t say enough about the quality of care I received. I came from another treatment center and continued my journey here, they continued to give me the tools I needed to succeed in my recovery, from the moment I walked through the door, I was greeted with kindness and comfort to complete the next step of my treatment. I have to say I did not come across one step of my process here without the support I needed. I want to thank everyone here for what you did for me, you helped bring me back to life!!

To all the negative Nancy’s with one star. I’m a close friend with the director of operations of Seacrest. Within 24 hours of making a phone call I was admitted. I skipped detox and kicked dope cold Turkey. Every day every moment a tech or counselor was making sure I was okay in comfort and was willing to do whatever they had to make sure I was at ease. I was willing to listen and not fight to make recovery “my way “because my way led my to so many relapses jails institutions for years. With that being said this place worked with me in every way shape and form possible. All because I was willing to go with the current and not against. There’s plenty of great experiences and positive people to get close to that will lead you in the correct direction if your looking to live a life free from drugs and alcohol. Just like any other meeting room and treatment center there are negative, ungrateful people you should steer clear from! That’s normal. If you show me who your friends are I’ll show you who you are. Recovery is what you make of it! I owe it up to Seacrest that’s why I still part take in every alumni event, I still go speak there, Travis B alumni coordinator is a very close friend I speak to daily. Matt Simon my counselor a great example of a gentleman. Mike Stevens and Laura made every day count for me never failed to ask how I am feeling. I love my Seacrest family. BIGGEST shoutout to Jared Silver a mentor, friend, and fine example of what long term sobriety is, and lastly someone I look up to. True friend are never apart maybe in distance never in heart. And Seacrest will always hold a special place in my heart
